Obituary
Mr. Louis “Barney” L. Inghram, 93 of Burlington, died at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January, 16, 2021 at Great River Medical Center.
Born December 3, 1927, he was the son of Ervin and Rebecca (Kerr) Inghram. He married Velma E. “Pat” Pattison September 5, 1947 in Biggsville, IL. They divorced February 2, 1966. He married Marion “Maggie” Groth Reusch July 17 1966 in Biggsville, IL. She died July 2, 2007.
Barney served as a Merchant Marine in the United States Marine Corp. He worked at Yetter Oil and retired from Burlington River Terminal.
He was a member of the Burlington Gym and the V.F.W. He enjoyed growing tomatoes, baking cupcakes, feeding the birds, racing, old Westerns, soap operas and the show “Pickers”. He loved his family and his dogs.
Survivors include two daughters, Patti (Phil) Good and Jacquie Thomas, both of Burlington; nine grandchildren, Sam, Carrie, Michelle, Jeff, Joe, Cory, J.R., Katrina, and Latisha; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cleora Reynolds and Judy Newberry, both of Arizona; fur baby, Bella; cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives; one brother, Don; son, Jimmy in infancy; daughters, Beki Schnedler, Linda Inghram Smothers; and stepson, Mike Reusch.
A private family service will be held due to Covid-19.
Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may call noon – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23rd at Lunning Chapel. Family will not be present.
Memorials have been established for Des Moines County Humane Society and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
