Donald E. Sink, 85, of Burlington died Friday, July 22, 2011 at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born August 23, 1925 in Burlington he was the son of Roy and Cathryn Bercaw Sink. On March 20, 1943 he married Wanda Dile in New London, Missouri. Mr. Sink was a navy veteran serving in World War II. Mr. Sink worked as a boilermaker for C.B.&Q. Railroad and then for Burlington Northern Railroad. He retired in 1987 after 45 years of service. Mr. Sink was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagle's Club and The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 199. He enjoyed hunting, toy trains, guns, camping and most importantly spending time with his family. Don will always be remembered for the great camp fires he built and his enjoyment of having a party and cookouts with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Sink of Burlington; one daughter, Judy (Kenny) Davis of Port Orange, Florida; two sons, Mike (Wilma) Sink and Dennis (Debbie) Sink both of Burlington; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, four brothers and one brother and one sister in infancy. According to Mr. Sink's wishes, cremation has been accorded and no services are planned.
