Obituary

Richard George Hingst, 89, of Burlington, died at 7:00 am Sunday, May 3, 2020, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born December 6, 1930, in Burlington, IA, he was the son of John A. and Helen L. Brown Hingst. On November 15, 1969, he married Patricia Ann Bresch in Monmouth, Illinois.
Richard served in the United States Navy during the Korean War in many US Naval Hospitals.

He worked for BNSF for 12 years and he worked as a History teacher and Junior High boy's football and Girls basketball coach for 31 years.

He was a member of VFW, American Legion, and St. John's Catholic Church

Survivors include wife, Patricia Ann Hingst of Burlington, IA, one daughter, Dianne Hingst of Coralville, one son, Douglas Hingst of San Diego, CA, many nieces and nephews;.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Hingst.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

The Graveside Committal Service for Mr. Hingst will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at Aspen Grove Cemetery with Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz officiating.

Memorials have been established for the Des Moines County Animal Shelter and Great River Hospice House.
