Obituary
Janet Larson, 85, of Burlington, died Sunday, December 15, 2019, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born November 14, 1934, in Norwalk, CT, she was the daughter of Clyde and Golda Freestone Kammer. On September 3, 1955, she married Alan Larson in Lewis, WI. They were happily married for 64 years.
She graduated from Frederic High School in Frederic, WI in 1952.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and volunteered as Treasurer of the Auxiliary Gift Shop at BMC and GRMC for 20 years. She and Alan were members of the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America and showed their cars at many meets over the last 40+ years.
Janet and Alan traveled to 48 states in their RV, visiting many National Parks, landmarks, family and friends. She loved nature, flowers, and watching the birds in her back yard.
Survivors include her husband, Alan Larson of Burlington; daughter, Cindy (Ned) Larsen of Rockford, IL; son, Tim (Karanel) Larson of Burlington; granddaughter, Natalie Larson of Burlington, NC; brother, David (Dorothy) Kammer of Concord, MI; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved Shih Tzu, Taffy.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
Family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM Friday, December 20, 2019 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
A celebration of Janet's life will be held at 11:30 AM Friday, December 20, 2019, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home following the service. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.
