Clinton Earl Erickson Sr., 66, of Burlington, died at 9:25 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at his home. Born Nov. 11, 1936, in Burlington, he was the son of Otto Emanuel Sr. and Hazel May Emery Erickson. On Dec. 3, 1961, he married Judith Marie Cohoon in Monmouth, Ill. Mr. Erickson was a truck driver and later an owner/operator of his own rig. He also was a contractor, a distributor for RC Cola and worked for Hunt Road Storage. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Moose Lodge No. 579 and Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie No. 150 of Burlington. He was a Korean War Army veteran, serving from 1954 to 1957, with the rank of private first class. Survivors include his wife; one son, Clinton Erickson Jr., of Burlington; one daughter, Kim Johnston of Burlington; two grandchildren; four brothers, Bill Erickson, Otto Erickson Jr. and Bob Erickson, all of Burlington and John Erickson Sr. on Monmouth; and one sister Roberta Connelly of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Erickson will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Ken Hyndman officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard of VFW Posts 10102 and 9162, America Legion Post 52 and the Hamilton-Walters Marine Corps League will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice.
