Nancy Sue Fleming, age 80, of Burlington, died at 9:24 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Great River Hospice House.
Born September 25, 1938 in Burlington, IA, she was the daughter of Charles R. and Thelma M. (Sutherland) Chambers.
Nancy graduated from Burlington High School and attended Southeastern Community College. She worked as an electrical designer at G.E. for 28 years until her retirement in 1998 and then later held a private investigator license.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She was known as a master quilter and loved sewing, shopping, snow skiing, boating on the Mississippi River, and traveling. She enjoyed race car driving, winning the Powder Puff race in 1967 at the 34 Raceway.
Survivors include two sons, Mike (Freda) Chambers of Snowflake, AZ and Donnie Goble Jr. of Burlington, IA; four nieces, Pam Luder of West Burlington, IA, Linda Stien of Atkins, IA, Vickie Riche of Bentonville, AR, and Sue Miller of Las Vegas, NV; four nephews, Gary Conor of Las Vegas, NV, Jim Morris of Danville, IA, Rodney Riche, and Chuck Riche, both of AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, three sisters, and one nephew, Ronald Chambers.
Visitation for Nancy will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, with the family present. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 29th at Lunning Chapel. Bishop Paul Rau will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral service. Inurnment will be noon, Friday, August 30th at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
