Obituary
Ruby Mae Greenup, 87, of Burlington, died at 1:15 AM Monday, January 18, 2021, at the Arbor Court in Mount Pleasant.
Born June 2, 1933, in Shelbina, MO, she was the daughter of Charles L. and Florence L. Kipper Robinson. On September 7, 1957, she married William H. Greenup in Burlington. He later passed on February 14, 2012.
Ruby was a homemaker.
She was a member of Union Baptist Church. She enjoyed music and dancing, especially to James Brown. She was a mother to all. She was incredibly loving; nurturing all her kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews. She was the pillar that held the family up, and the glue that held them together. Her door was always open, where you knew you would be greeted by a warm smile, and her bright red hair. She made such an impact on her family and the people around her, that one of her grandsons named his daughter after her. No one could love better than Aunt Ruby did.
Survivors include five daughters, Dorothy Stout of Burlington, Kay Greenup of Burlington, Karen Downs of Burlington, Theresa Greenup of Burlington, and Christy (Kenneth Poullard) Benson of Waco, TX; one son, William (Charyne) Greenup, Jr. of Round Rock, TX; two brothers, Thomas and Raymond Robinson both of Burlington; two sisters, Betty McCruter and Velma Smith both of Burlington; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by one daughter, Ernestine Robinson, and two brothers, Charles and Roy.
