Rosa Darlene Parsons, 87, of Burlington, died at 11:20 AM Monday, October 25, 2021, at her home.
Born May 28, 1934, in Kirksville, MO, she was the daughter of Arthur Roy and Edna Opal Norman Mahurin. On June 16, 1957, she married Everett Eugene Parsons in Kirksville, MO. He died April 16, 1997.
She graduated from high school in 1952.
Before becoming a housewife, Rosa worked for Midwest Biscuit for six years.
She was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, tending to her rose bushes, and reading her Daniel Steel books. Rosa collected Holiday Barbies. She could be found sitting on the porch enjoying the outdoors.
Survivors include her two sons, Jeff Parsons and Terry Parsons, both of Burlington; one daughter, Lori (Daniel) Goodwin of Burlington; four grandchildren, Jamie Parsons, Emily Goodwin, Christina Dennis, and Renee Douglas; one great grandchild, Brodie Parsons and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and three sister.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM with the family to receive friends Friday, October 29, 2021 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The Graveside Committal Service for Mrs. Parsons will be 10:30 AM Friday, October 29, 2021, at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
