Obituary

Bill E. Palmer, 79, of Burlington, died at 10:19 PM Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Arbor Court in Mount Pleasant.

Born July 15, 1942, in Burlington, he was the son of William Earl Palmer and Marian F. (Ertz) Stout.

He was a 1960 graduate of Burlington Notre Dame High School.

Bill worked 27 years for J. I. Case Co. in production of the skid loaders, retiring in 1992.

He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish. He was a very involved member of the Boy Scouts of America and was the Scoutmaster of Troop 3. He especially loved camping, and enjoyed volunteering at Camp Eastman for many years. He was a member of Knight of Columbus Third Degree and United Auto Workers Local 807.

Survivors include one brother, Richard K. (Loretta) Palmer of Burlington; step-sister, Sarah (Brian) Sink; niece, Amy (Travis) Baker; nephews, Chad (Dena) Palmer and Dusty (Lisa) Palmer; and great-nieces and nephews, Ale' and Clayton Graham, Shay (Anne Glasgow) Palmer, Carly and Mia Baker and Macklyn Palmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Friday, May 13, 2022 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.

The memorial service for Mr. Palmer will be at 11:00 AM Friday, May 13, 2022 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Fr. Dennis Martin officiating. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Following the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Camp Eastman Development Association.
