Obituary
Glenn J. Harris, 85, died Thursday June 25, 2020 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. He was born July 7, 1934 in Downing, MO to John Glenn and Kate Blanche (Farley) Harris. He was the 8th of 9 children. He served our nation on the Coral Sea aircraft carrier touring the Mediterranean as a Navy Seaman 1st Class. He married Rosa Mae Powers on August 29, 1959 at the Church of Christ in Burlington, IA, where they were life-long members.
He worked for 22 years at the IAAP in Middletown and 25 years at the Burlington Northern Railroad Shops.
He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Brenda (Dave) Kirchner and son Jay (Joi) Harris. His grandchildren are Ryan (Sara) Kirchner in Kittery, Maine, Josh Kirchner in Rock Island, Justin (Haylee) Harris, in West Burlington, Joel (Teyler Norris) Harris in Burlington, and Jordan (Jamie) Forrett in Burlington. He has one great-grandchild Harlee Jo, one brother Lowell Harris in Searcy, AR, Sisters-in-law Marjorie Harris in Amarillo, TX, Peggy Powers, Debby (Archie) Cain, and Linda Powers, all of Vicksburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Rosa Mae, and seven siblings, Ladene Peterson, Max Harris, Blaine Harris, Robert Harris, Leon Harris, Nedra Kinyon, and Morna Darrah.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Burlington Church of Christ.

Glenn lead a life of great faith, virtue, and integrity.
