Paul H. Niemann, a retired Burlington pharmacist recalled for his soda fountain, died September 8 at the Brookdale Senior Living facility in Tucson. He was 104 years old.
Born March 6, 1915 in West Burlington Iowa, he was the oldest of the six children of Theodore F. and Florence Niemann. His father founded the family pharmacy business.
He was a graduate of St. Paul’s High School in Burlington and went to the University of Iowa Pharmacy College. Paul operated the family business at 1700 Osborn Street.
Paul is survived by his wife Norma; siblings Marcelline and John; son Theodore; grandchildren Jerry, Paul, Ann and Peter; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Audrey, sisters Betty and Anne, brother Mark and daughter Nancy.
