Obituary

Marian Ann Dougherty, 84, of Burlington, died at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Azria Health Prairie Ridge in Mediapolis.
Born August 26, 1937 in Drayton, N.D., she was the daughter of Axel Victor and Mary Ellen (Meyer) Lindblad. She married Jack Franklin Dougherty March 10, 1973 in Oquawka, IL. He died January 14, 1992.
Marian was of the Christian faith.
She worked in production at I.A.A.P. for 50 years until her retirement in 2013. She was a past member of the Eagles Club. Her hobbies included knitting and working.
Survivors include her children, Gerald (Valarie) Hancock, Glen (Carla) Hancock, Lou Hancock, all of Burlington, Keith (Peggy) Hancock of Stronghurst, IL, Kathryn Pumell of Sedalia, MO; stepchildren, Jack M. Dougherty of Muscatine, David Dougherty of San Diego, CA, Pam Bailey of Fullerton, CA and Susan Keys of Huston, TX; five grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six sisters, and six brothers.
The visitation for Mrs. Dougherty will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. Friday, September 3rd at Lunning Chapel. Interment will follow in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Rev. David Mixon will officiate.
Memorials have been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society and the Stronghurst, IL Humane Society.
