DeWayne L. Agnew, 78, of Burlington, died Friday, February 5, 2021 at Oakview Nursing & Rehab Center in Burlington, Iowa.
Born July 13, 1942 in Burlington, Iowa he was the son of Johnny Agnew & Delores Moehn Butler. He graduated from Burlington High School. He married Sandra Noel on February 8, 1969 in Burlington, Iowa.
DeWayne worked as an Insulator for Local 81 out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa retiring in 2008.
He was of Protestant Faith.
He was an avid collector of Elvis memorabilia and a Big fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. It brought him great joy going to his grandkids’ sporting events. DeWayne was a huge animal lover.
Survivors include his wife Sandra Agnew of Burlington; two children, Dawn (Ben) Gulick of Burlington, Iowa, Brett Agnew of Des Moines, Iowa; five grandchildren, Josh & Owen Gulick of Burlington, Iowa, Sydney, Gage & Audrey Agnew of Des Moines, Iowa; mother Delores Moehn Butler of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his father & grandparents.
Inurnment will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 19th at Aspen Grove Cemetery. Pastor Dean Graber will officiate.
Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
