Helen V. Schwartz, 97, of Burlington, passed away peacefully at 7:00 AM Wednesday, December 9, 2020.
Born May 24, 1923, in Burlington, IA, she was the daughter of Fred H. and Mildred Koett Pratt (who passed away at a young age) and Frances Pratt. She married Richard D. Schwartz. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1999.
Helen was a past co-owner and operater of Schwartz's Grocery Store. She also worked at McKesson-Robbins for 10 years, and at Ace Florist for 20 years.
Her life was extended with the love and companionship of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Helen was a past member of the Women of Moose and American Legions Auxiliary. She was of Catholic faith and was a member of Divine Mercy Parish - SS Mary and Patrick Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas (Terri) Schwartz of Burlington and William "Bill" (Bobbie) Johnson of Denver, CO; five grandchildren: Wendy, Aaron, Lora, Douglas and Jennifer; six great-grandchildren: Kyler, Avery, Jordan, Dominic, Vivienne, and Quinton; and two sisters, Margaret Leffel and Dorothy Hester both of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; step-mother, Frances Pratt; three brothers, Edwin (Fritz) Pratt, C.A. (Albert) Pratt, and Frank Richard (Dick) Pratt; and one sister, Arlene Schubert.
The Graveside Committal Service for Helen will be 2:00 PM Monday, December 14, 2020, at Aspen Grove Cemetery with Pastor JudyAnn Morse officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Every Step Hospice.
