Obituary
George William Lehman, 86, of Burlington, died at 2:58 pm Sunday, November 11, 2018, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born September 10, 1932, in Burlington, IA, he was the son of Charles and Emma Marie Lehman. On August 25, 1956, he married Mary Frances Rill in Agency, Iowa.
George worked as a draftsman and in sales and service for 41 years at Murray Iron Works.
He was a member of NRA, YMCA Keen Agers. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, mushroom hunting and raising game birds.
Survivors include three daughters, Diana (Doug Conner) Lehman of Mount Pleasant, IA, Anita Lehman of Des Moines, IA, Amy (Troy) Dodge of Burlington, IA, four grandchildren: Amanda, Ryan and Trent Gorrell and DeLana Dodge; three great-grandsons: Gavin Bencze and Marcus and Rayden Gorrell; nephew, Charles Lehman of Coal Valley, IL, and niece Donna Champion of Racine, WI.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Reginald Lehman.
The family will receive friends 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Monday, November 19, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for George will be 11:00 AM Monday, November 19, 2018, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Melisa Bracht-Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at The Loft on Jefferson Street following the burial. It is encouraged by the family for all guests to wear either St. Louis Cardinals or Iowa Hawkeyes attire.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Great River Hospice House.
