Obituary

Roy Burk, 92, of Burlington, died Monday, March 14, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.
Born September 1, 1929 in Davenport, Iowa he was the son of Hugh and Elizabeth (Hoambrecker) Burk and was raised by his step father Harry Ward.
He served in the Navy for 9 1/2 years. He married Leona Oetken on February 20, 1954. Together they celebrated 68 years of marriage.
Roy was an auto mechanic and enjoyed camping and being outdoors.
Survivors include his wife Leona Burk of Burlington; six children, Sandra (Dan) Morris, Jannette (David) Knutsen, Tara Lamphier, David (Paula) Burk, James Burk and Jarrod Burk; 24 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers Raymond Ward and Earnest “Ernie” Ward; sister Harriet Crawford and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cathy Burk, one grandson, one brother Ronald, two sisters Marie and Eudora, two daughter-in-laws and one son-in-law.
The funeral service for Mr. Burk will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 18th at Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral services. Cremation will follow the funeral services and has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel. Inurnment will be held Monday, March 21st at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
