Obituary

Billye B. Hines, 90, of Burlington, died at 4:42 AM Monday, September 24, 2018, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born January 10, 1928, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Cortes A. and Ethel Gilleard Baxter. In November of 1948 she married Bernard Fidler. He later passed. On November of 1961, she married Cecil M. Hines at Grace United Methodist Church in Burlington. He died August 29, 1981.

Billye worked in accounting most of her life. She retired from Henkel Corp. in December of 1991 after 27 years of service.

She was a 1945 graduate of Burlington High School.

She was a life member of Grace United Methodist Church, serving as Treasurer's since 1992 up until recently.She was a member of the Avesta Sunday School Class, Homebuilder's, and was a member of the Burlington Chapter of GFWC joining the Antique Division.

Survivors include her son, James (Sherry) Fidler of Burlington; daughter, Peggy (Tim)Witt of Oak Grove, MO; Daughter by Heart, Linda McConnell of Sun Lakes, AZ;15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two sons, Danny Fidler and Tim Fidler, three sisters, and one brother.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.

The funeral service for Mrs. Hines will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Brown officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home following the burial.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Grace United Methodist Church.
