Mary Ann Neff, 73, of Burlington, died at 10:25 AM Saturday, April 24, 2021, at her home.
Born November 11, 1947, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Ralph Edward and Jane Frances McLaughlin Siefken. On May 7, 1966 she married Sheldon Dwight Neff at St Paul's Catholic Church in Burlington.
She was a 1965 graduate of Burlington Notre Dame High School.
She worked as a bookkeeper for B.L Robinson for over 20 years.
She was a part of an investment club for several years, and ran the 1965 Notre Dame Reunions. She ran her own business, Neff's Tax Service, accumulating over 400 clients over the years. Mary Ann always started her day with a cup of coffee and a cigarette. A very giving person, she was always willing to put others before herself, especially when it came to her love for her great-granddaughter, Sophia. She loved taking trips to The Ozarks, collecting owls, catering, and a multitude of sewing and crafts. She spent her life taking care of a lot of people, and the people who knew her best knew her as a tiny woman, with a big personality.
Survivors include son, Allen (Margie) Neff of Burlington; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Corey) Gibb of Burlington, Gregory Neff of Danville, IA, Miranda (Josh) Gronewold of Keokuk, IA, Ryan Payne of Burlington; five brothers, Ray (Roberta) Siefken of, Robert (Sue) Siefken, Dan (Sherry) Siefken and Roger Siefken all of Burlington, and Tom (Tyke) Siefken of Rockford, IL; two sisters, Joanne (Rick) Cook of Burlington, and Carol (Donnie) Wagler of New London, IA; sister-in-law, Connie Siefken of Burlington; close friend, MaryAnn Bolan, of Burlington; and 29 nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Marti, brother Eugene, niece Crystal, and a nephew, Travis.
The family will receive friends from 8:30 AM until 10:30 AM Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Neff will be 10:30 AM Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Fr James Flattery as the Celebrant. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for P.A.W.S. in Fort Madison, IA.
