Obituary

Mrs. Mary Irene Moehlman, 101, of Wapello, formerly of Burlington, died at 4:40 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Wapello Specialty Care.
Born August 8, 1919 in Buxton, IA, she was the daughter of Charles W. and Irene (Brown) Goodwin. She married Robert Louis Moehlman January 5, 1952 in Fort Dodge, IA. He died May 4, 1999.
Mary and Robert moved to Burlington in July 1954. They owned a laundromat, “Quick-Clean” at Fairway Center. She was a teller at First National Bank retiring in 1969. She also worked for Employers Mutual of Des Moines, IA.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Burlington, a 50-year member of E.C. Blackmar, O.E.S., and Daughters of the Nile.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce Moehlman of Tucson, AZ and Steven (Debbie) Moehlman of Wapello; stepdaughter, Patricia Ryan of Burlington; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
The funeral service for Mrs. Moehlman will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 28th at Lunning Chapel. Rev. Melisa Bracht-Wagner will officiate. Cremation will be entrusted to Lunning Chapel following the service. A private family inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
A memorial has been established for First United Methodist Church.
