Ron Stafford, 81, of Burlington, died Saturday, January 15, 2022 at his home.
Born October 7, 1940 in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of Glen and Frances I. (Funk) Stafford. He married Elsie Penrod on April 23, 1965 at Spring Grove Methodist Church.
Ron worked for J. I. Case for 28 years.
He enjoyed horses, hunting, fishing, gardening and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. He loved spending lots and lots of time with his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife Elsie Stafford of Burlington; three children, Keith Stafford, Linda (Ed) Gibbons and Brenda (Christopher) Almack all of Burlington; five grandchildren, Kelsey Stafford, Bailey Stafford, Emma Gibbons, William Almack and Victoria Almack; one great granddaughter on the way and one brother Gene Stafford of Sperry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Edward Lee Gibbons II, sister Marilyn Hanson and sister-in-law Kay Stafford.
The graveside funeral service and interment for Ron will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 21st at Aspen Grove Cemetery. Mr. Ned Fry will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 21st at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends.
A memorial has been established for St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
