Obituary

Doris Marie Hultgren, 93, of West Burlington passed away 8:37 a.m. Sunday, May 30, 2021, at the Azria Health Prairie Ridge of Mediapolis.
Born October 24, 1927 in Mediapolis, Iowa she was the daughter of Oliver and Ethel Drinkall Marshall. On August 15, 1947 she married Clyde R. Hultgren. He passed away January 5, 2003.
Doris was a graduate of Burlington High School with the Class of 1945. She worked as a Farm wife and at IRC/TRW and retired after 20 years.
She was a 50 plus year member of the E.C. Blackmar Chapter Order of Eastern Star in Burlington.
She enjoyed traveling, camping, playing bingo, cooking, crocheting and her grandchildren. She and her husband were avid Hawkeye Basketball and Football fans, having season tickets for many years.
Survivors include: son, Richard Hultgren of Burlington, IA; six grandchildren: Benjamin, Jill, Shari, William, Christina and Greg, fifteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clyde Hultgren, one daughter Beverly Brown, three sisters Marge, Wilma and Mary Ann, two grandchildren Jeanette and Lorie, great granddaughter Andrea, great great-grandson Bram.
Visitation will be 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2021. The family will receive friends at Lunning Chapel Thursday, June 3rd from 5:00 to 7:00.
Memorial graveside will be held at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the Shriner’s Crippled Children’s Hospital.
