Obituary
Warren Carter, 87, of West Burlington, died at 5:25 PM Friday, February 28, 2020, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born June 8, 1932, in Burlington, he was the son of Lester Guy and Marie Louise Wunderlich Carter. On July 12, 1953, he married Marie Louise Peterson in Burlington. She died on April 22, 2019.
Warren began working at Murray Iron Works. He was a general supervisor for Champion Spark Plug for over 40 years.
He was a graduate from Burlington High School in 1950. He attended Burlington Community College.
He was a member of Harmony Bible Church. He liked to go fishing with his wife and watching his grandchildren and their sporting events. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, golf, mowing, Pepsi and "secret" snacks.
Survivors include four sons, Ed (Dawn) Carter of Fort Madison, Robert (Kathy) Carter of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Philip Carter of West Burlington, Dennis (Susie) Carter of New London; five grandchildren, Ben (Katie) Carter, Jonathon (Anna) Carter, Jared (Elizabeth) Carter, Justin Carter, and Gabe Carter; five great-grandchildren, Grace, Ella, Drake, Addie and Ian; one brother, Lester (Karen) Carter of Burlington; and his dog, Izzy.
Besides his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James, and one sister who died in infancy.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A celebration of Mr. Carter's life will be held at Harmony Bible Church - Burlington Campus on a date and time to be announced.
A memorial has been established.
