June was born December 12, 1927. She was a graduate of Burlington High School and worked for Commercial Credit.
Dick and June were married February 1, 1952 in Burlington. In 1962 Dick and June purchased Burlington Paint and Wallpaper, renamed it Stoermers, and because of many years of hard worked developed the store into a very familiar downtown business. She was very dedicated to their business, but was also very generous with time for the family. In 1992, they sold the business to David and Pam, but continued to work part time in the store. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and a previous member of Kings Daughters.
June loved her family, she attended many ball games, dance recitals, band concerts, music recitals, swim meets, gymnastic meets and loved babysitting whenever possible. She loved boating with family and friends, traveling, needlework, stitching dozens of pieces of needlework from home, family and friends, but her real passion was ballroom dancing. The Stoermers danced all over the Midwest for many years, making many dancing friends. Well known as “Grandma June”, “Junie”, “Baby June” and “June Bug”. She spent hours in her later years reading books, playing solitaire and doing crossword puzzles and word search games.
According to her wishes, cremation has accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Bethany Lutheran Church.
