Mr. Kenneth "Kenny" Allen Thomas, 47, of Denmark, died Monday, January 24, 2011, in Wever.
Born February 19, 1963 in Burlington, he was the son of Ivan Kenneth and Phillis Fay Huffman Thomas. Mr. Thomas was retired from Wal-mart Distribution Center after 20 years service and was currently co-owner and manager of the Green Bay Tap.
Mr. Thomas was of the Lutheran faith. He was a "River Rat", loved music, attending Neil Young and Eric Clapton concerts and spending time with friends. He was a big animal lover. He enjoyed gardening and fruit trees. He loved being at the bar with his "people" and was usually the center of attention. He was a "workaholic". Survivors include one daughter, Amanda Matthews of Wever; his parents, Ivan "Kenny" and Phillis Thomas of Gladstone, Illinois; three sisters, Marguerite (Mark) Fehseke of Corydon, Debra (Mike) Bailey of Oquawka, Illinois and Susan (Kirk) Swanson of West Burlington; one brother, Andy Thomas of Burlington; four nieces and four nephews that were very important to him; and two great nieces and two great nephews.
Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 27th, in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
The Celebration of Life for Mr. Thomas will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 28th, in Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Mark McBride will officiate. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for the Wever and Denmark Fire Departments.
