Aurel I. Thimmesch, 84, of Burlington, died at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at her home. Born August 31, 1925, in Artesian, S.D., she was the daughter of Earl and Minnie Sampson Warner. On November 17, 1945, she married Wilfred Thimmesch. Mrs. Thimmesch was a homemaker, and retired from Winegard, working there 20 years. She was a member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed homemaking, traveling in the RV, camping, fishing, especially at Lake of the Ozarks, and old-style country music. Survivors include her husband; one son, Michael Thimmesch of Burlington; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; four great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one brother, James Warner of Augusta, Kan.; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, her parents, and four brothers. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Thimmesch will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Dean Benton officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established.
