Jestine Birlson, 86, of Burlington, died at 11:15 AM Friday, May 25, 2018, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born December 28, 1931, in Newport, AR, she was the daughter of Sid F. and Bessie Brock Gray. On June 3, 1949, she married Vernon Birlson in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. He died on March 31, 1991.
She was a member of Parkside Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending church and prayer groups. She used to enjoy writing poetry, crochet, arts and crafts, bowling, and going boating and fishing.
Survivors include her two sons, Robin (Julie) Birlson of Burlington, Tim (Terrie) Birlson of Centerton, AR; three daughters, Namora Veronne (Mike) Baxter of Nixa, MO, Sandra (Dan) Heckman of Lakewood, CO, and Jill (Dan) Elia of Parker, CO; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Benjamin (Paula) Gray of Marion, IN; and three nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mary Burkett, grandchild, Robert Schaefer, and one niece.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mrs. Birlson will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Chaplain Randy Gearhart officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Parkside Baptist Church and Great River Hospice House.
