Harry E. Taylor, 85, of Burlington, died at 3:11 p.m. Tuesday,Aug. 31, 1999, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant. Born Nov. 10, 1913, in Jacksonville, Ill., he was the son of Harry S. and Blanche Norvella Lamb Taylor. He married Eloise I. Tendick on Aug. 9, 1936, in Jacksonville. Mr. Taylor was a graduate of Jacksonville High School. He was a real estate agent for Better Homes and Gardens Rolf Realty for 17 years, and manager of Eagle Food Store from 1956- 1964. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Patriot No. 650 Masonic Lodge AF & AM, and Kaaba Shrine, and was a member and past president of the Burlington Kiwanis Club. Survivors include his wife; three sons, James R. Taylor of Ann Arbor, Mich., Harry J. Taylor of Plainfield, N.J., and Larry J. Taylor of Burlington; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Frances Long of Winchester, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Friday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. There will be a Masonic serivce by the Patriot Lodge at 7 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Taylor will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Lunning Chapel, with the Revs. Dennis Tevis and David Rogula officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for First United Methodist Church.
