Dorothy Mae Erickson Swenson, 90, Burlington, died at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2008, in her home. Born August 29, 1917, in Escanaba, Michigan, she was the daughter of Harry and Adella Hakes Erickson. On April 3, 1937, she married Victor Swenson in Winona, Minneosta. He died on May 25, 1988. Mrs. Swenson was a 1935 graduate of Winona High School. She was a Supervisor working for Kresge and K-Mark, retiring October 30, 1978. Dorothy was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and the Burlington Women's Club. Survivors include a son Raymond (Nancy) Swenson of Burlington; twin daughters Sharon (David) Sink of Portland, Oregon, and Karen (Doug) Reed of Lincoln City, Oregon; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers Ronald (Barb) Erickson of Burlington and Harwood Erickson of Indianapolis, Indiana. Her parents, husband, and two sisters Irene and Caryl Jean preceded her in death. Friends may call Tuesday, January 8th, from noon until 8:00 p.m. in Lunning Chapel. Family will receive friends Tuesday, January 8th, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Graveside Funeral Service for Mrs. Swenson will be Wednesday, January 9th, at 1:00 p.m. in Aspen Grove Cemetery with Reverend Russel Kobs officiating. Memorials have been established for Our Savior Lutheran Church and Great River Hospice.
