Richard Warren Binder, 83, of Burlington, died at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at his home. Born September 23, 1922, in Burlington, he was the son of Walter August and Esther Sophie Wertz Binder. On July 10, 1958, he married Niomi Caroline Venard in Orange, Texas. Mr. Binder was a machinist for Murray Iron Works for 35 years. He was of the Methodist faith. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife of Burlington; one son, Timothy Binder of West Burlington; and one sister, Bonie Carpenter of Wilmington, Delaware. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant son. There will be no visitation. The graveside service for Mr. Binder will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Aspen Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Tevis officiating. A memorial has been established for the Salvation Army.
