Naomi Caroline Binder, 80, of Burlington, Iowa, died on Sunday, August 3, 2008, at her home. Naomi was born on January 21, 1928, in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Mabel (Carlson) Venard. On June 10, 1958, in Orange, Texas, she married Richard W. Binder, who preceded her in death on November 2, 2005. Naomi worked at Western Union and Chicago Motor Club in Monmouth, IL; the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Burlington; and was also a homemaker. She enjoyed pets and bird watching. Naomi was a member of the Lutheran Church. Survivors include one brother, Robert Venard of Monmouth; two sisters, Lorene Bush of Nashville, TN and Ila Jean Roseberry of Monmouth. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Frank Venard, and an infant son. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at 2:30 p.m. at Spen Grove Cemetery in Burlington, with Pastor Carl Engstrom officiating. No formal visitation is planned.
