William R. Stubbs, 79, of West Burlington, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Great River Medical Center Klein Center in Burlington. Born, December 8, 1930, in Burlington, he was the son of Harry James and Sarah Hodges Stubbs. On March 25, 1950, he married Patty Paterson in Burlington. Mr. Stubbs worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown before retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Burlington. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid reader. Survivors include two daughters, Terri Stubbs of St. Charles, MO, and Meribeth Bauer of Burlington; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sarah Ellen Sacco of Rock Island, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and two brothers. There will be no visitation. The graveside service for Mr. Stubbs will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, with David Plooster officiating. Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is in charge of arrange- ments.
