Oneda Anne Streeter, 103, of Burlington, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born Nov. 4, 1907, in Syria, she was the daughter of Joseph and Sadie Oscar. On June 7, 1926, she married Eugene Franklin Streeter in Sioux Falls. He died Feb. 1, 1978. Mrs. Streeter worked at Sylvania, General Electric, and 34 Truck Stop. She immigrated with her parents to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in December 1908, and came to the United States through Ellis Island on the ship Varsi. She moved to Sioux Falls in 1923. She sang with the Silver Singers. She was a charter member of R.S.V.P., and member of Moose Auxiliary for many years. Survivors include two sons, Ed Streeter of Burlington, and John Streeter of Morrison, Colo.; one daughter, Yvonne Gallagher of LaJolla, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by four sons, one grandchild, and her parents. No visitation is planned. The body has been cremated. The memorial service for Mrs. Streeter will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Christ Episcopal Church in Burlington, with the Rev. John Horn officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.
