Ellen Barbara Binder, 85, of 119 S. Marshall St., Burlington died at 4:08 am Wednesday, May 3, 1995, at Burlington Medical Center’s Klein Unit.
Born July 17, 1909, in Olds, she was the daughter of Armond and Mary Christner Gisser. She married Arthur J. Binder on July 6, 1935, in Burlington. He died Aug. 2, 1974.
She attended the Mercy School of Nursing and was a private duty registered nurse for 60 years. She was a lifelong member of the Eicher Mennonite Church of Noble.
Survivors include one sister, Mabel Bontrager of Keokuk; several nieces, including Mary Ellen Blacksmith of Burlington; a nephew; grandnieces, and a grandnephew.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Friday in Prugh’s Chapel.
A private graveside committal service will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Wing officiating.
A memorial has been established for BMC’s Klein unit.
