William F. Stout, 63, of 643 S, Central, died at 8:25 p.m. Sunday, Feb, 14, 1988, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born June 4, 1924, in Des Moines County, he was the son of Frank J. and Sophia A. Schwerin Stout. He married Lucille Stadtlander March 29, 1947, at Des Moines. She died June 22, 1979. He later married Verna L. Conn Kester at Fort Madison. Mr. Stout was associated with several service stations in Burlington for many years and later worked as a foreman at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. He was retired. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a Lutheran, an avid bowler. and a member of the VFW Post 2449.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, William J. Stout and Larry W, Stout, both of Burlington; one daughter, Mrs. Kathryn (Michael) Murphy, West Burlington; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Sherry (Larry) Plotz, Cedar Rapids, Jan Moeller, Fort Madison, Mrs. Darla (Ed) Meierotto, West Point; two stepsons, Jerry Kester, Denmark, and Mr. E. Todd Kester, rural
West Point; one sister, Mrs. Fern Wilkerson, West Burlington; one brother. Lloyd Stout, West Burlington; six grandchildren; and nine step grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at
Prugh's Chapel. The service for Mr. Stout will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel with the Rev. Allen Ourth and the Rev. Dale Warner officiating.
Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the American Heart Association.
