Lulu Catherine Stinson Webb, 98, of Burlington, died at 11:58 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2009, at Burlington Care Center, Burlington, Iowa. She was born January 28, 1911, in New London, Missouri, the daughter of Edward and Ida Mae Brisco King. She married James Stinson in Burlington. He preceded her in death. Lulu was a teacher in the Philadelphia school system for 30 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, and was a member of the St. John A & E Church and the Heritage Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Eugene Stinson of California; and one sister, Rebecca Humphry of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, Henry and Edward, three sisters, Laura, Gladys, and Phyllis. Funeral services for Lulu Catherine Stinson Webb will be held Monday, March 2, 2009, at Prugh's Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Brad Cranston will officiate. Interment will be at Aspen Grove Cemetery. No formal visitation is planned. Memorials have been established for Heritage Baptist Church.
