Bonnie Irene Stewart died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at her home in Burlington, Iowa. She was born December 19, 1932 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Porter E. and Nora Viola Morris Goudy. On April 13, 1952 she married Roland Scott Stewart in Ottumwa, Iowa. Bonnie was a homemaker and had previously worked for many years as a receptionist for Dr. Kent and Dr. McGee. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church, of We Care and was a former member of the Des Moines County Lioness Club. What gave "Grandma Bonnie" most joy was her service as a classroom volunteer at Prospect Elementary and most recently Black Hawk Elementary School. She is survived by her husband Roland, one daughter, Linda (Jim) Snowbarger of Marshalltown, Iowa. Two sons, William Stewart of Aberdeen, Washington and Kevin Stewart of Cedar Falls, Iowa. Three sisters, Dee (Floyd) Dickerson of Winterset, Iowa, Anna (Roy) McDonald of Concord, North Carolina and Patricia Clawson of Winfield, Alabama. Six grandchildren, Angela, Jason, Diana, Ryan, Michael and Jennifer; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother in law. Funeral services will be held in the First Presbyterian Church, Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Deb Kinney will officiate. The family will receive friends in Prugh's Chapel on Wednesday evening from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A memorial has been established for the First Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund
