Robert James Stewart, 61, of Burlington, Iowa died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2007, at his home in Burlington. Born June 4, 1946, in Burlington, he was the son of James and E. Louise Atherton Stewart. On August 5, 1967, he married Marcia Kay Rouse in Burlington, Iowa. Mr. Stewart was a truck driver for Vanwaters and Rodgers Chemical Company of Burlington. He served six years in the National Guard. He enjoyed the great outdoors, spending time with his grandchildren, camping, riding bicycles and being outside caring for his yard and trees. He was affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife Marcia of Burlington; two daughters, Shelly (Lee) Pleasant of Burlington, and Staci (Mark) Geiger of LeMoore, California; four grandchildren, James and Anna Pleasant of Burlington, and Bobby and Kylee Geiger of California; his parents, James and E. Louise Stewart; and one brother, Larry (Ruth Ann) Stewart of Danville, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Rev. Bill Salzman will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Great River Medical Center, Hospice Care in West Burlington.
