Mrs. Josephine Frances Stewart, 79, of Burlington, died at 8:15 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2008, at Great River Medical Center. Born May 12, 1928, in Clarksdale, Iowa, she ws the daughter of Joseph and Florence Giogglio Cicco. Mrs. Stewart was a graduate of Centerville High School. She worked as a cook and waitress at the Bowl Inn and Grier's Restaurant, worked at a bakery and took care of elderly people. She loved to play Bingo, cooking and baking. She often shared her baked goods with friends and family. Mrs. Stewart was a member of SS John and Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons, Frederick D. (Mary Lou) Stewart of Topeka, Kansas and Dennis W. (Joni) Stewart of Burlington; four grandchildren, Julie (Kevin) Newberry, Jill Stewart, Blake Stewart and Kierra Stewart; four sissters, Irene Faaro of Mystic, Jennie Sullivan of Kalona, Stella Baptist of Sylvis, Illinois, and Phyullis (Harry) Clayworth of Moravia; and one sister-in-law, Helen Cicco of Centerville. Her parents, one sister Mary, and three brothers Nick, Albert and Joseph preceded her in death. A memorial has been established for the Special Needs Foundation.
