Kelli Denise Stevens, 51, died August 9, 2014 at GRMC ER of a sudden unexpected heart ailment.
Born February 4th, 1963 in Burlington, Iowa she was the youngest daughter of Edward L. and Nellie M. Robbins Hill. Kelli graduated from Burlington Community High School in 1981.
She married Tom Stevens on June 28th, 1985 at West Burlington Christian Church where they have been members since. Kelli worked in high school as a waitress at the Burlington Country Kitchen, then later at the Holiday motel's coffee shop. In 1985, she began her life's career as a Pharmacy technician working first for 15 years at Wal-Mart pharmacy, then after moving over to the Shop-Ko pharmacy she obtained the PTCB certification and worked there 14 years through the time of her death.
Kelli loved church and was a baptized believer in our Lord Jesus Christ as her savior. She enjoyed gospel music, Hawaiian music, traveling for vacations both near and far, and any type of teddy bear. She also loved both flower and vegetable gardening and cooking.
Left to mourn her passing and await our reunion is her husband, Tom; mother, Nellie Hill of Burlington; a sister, Beverly Foster of West Burlington, a sister, Linda (Jim) Turner of Muncie, IN; and brothers, Larry Hill of Blanchester, OH and Wayne Hill of Clinton, IA. Also sisters-in-law, Carole Peet of Omaha, NE and Sharon (Dennis) Detrick of Mt. Pleasant, IA; brother-in-law, Rex Stevens of Burlington and various cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, sister-in-law Sandy Hill and her father.
Friends may call from noon until 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 12th, at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
The funeral service for Kelli will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 13th, at West Burlington Christian Church with the Revs. David Behlman and Steven Parker officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in memory of Kelli.
