Obituary
Mr. Harold E. Steuart, 84, of West Burlington, died at 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Danville Care Center.
Born June 8, 1926 in Vandalia, Missouri, he was the son of Roy and Viola Howard Steuart. He married Louisa Hill who preceded him in death in 1976. On May 1, 1976 he married Lova Dyer Lambirth in West Burlington.
Mr. Steuart was a World War II Army veteran serving as a Cavalry Trooper and Tech 5 with the 8th Army at Yokohama, Japan.
Mr. Steuart was a truck driver for 44 years driving for the cities of Hannibal, Missouri and Quincy, Illinois, H.B. Green, Dorhn, Spector Midstates and P.I.E.
He was of the protestant faith and was a life member of V.F.W. in Burlington. He was a member of Local 710 Teamsters Union and a past member of Loyal Order of the Moose. He loved animals, the outdoors and his two John Deere riding mowers.
Survivors include his wife, Lova Steuart of West Burlington; children, Ron (Judy), Judy, Pete and Robbin; step daughter, Bonnie (Dwight); and one sister, Delores Grizzle of Springfield, Illinois.
His parents; first wife; daughter, Joyce; son, David; five brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12th, in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from noon until 1:30 p.m.
The funeral service for Mr. Steuart will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12th, in Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Roberta Osborn officiating. The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
