Lawrence R. Sourwine, 80, of Burlington, died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 1998, at Burlington Medical Center. Born April 7, 1918, in Burlington, he was the son of Charles P. and Margaret L. Aspelmeier Sourwine. On August 25, 1946, he married Wanda Schaefer in Burlington. She died January 7, 1997. Mr. Sourwine was a plumber. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, VFW Post 10102, Burlington Gym, Eagles, American Legion, and Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 212. He was awarded the Bronze Star during World War II. Survivors include two sons, Raymond P. Soutwine of Urbandale, and Robert E. Sourwine of Burlington; two daughters, Linda Baker of West Burlngton, and Sharon Hall of Arkansas; five grandchildren; and five great-grand- children. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister. The graveside ash committal service for Mr. Sourwine, with military rites conducted by VFW Post 10102, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the Sunnyside Avenue entrance to the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. A memorial has been established for VFW Post 10102. Prugh Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
