Henry F. Sorensen, 94, 2114 Summer St., died at 11:05 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 1988, at Burlington Medical Center. Born Oct. 9, 1893, in Burlington, he was a descendant of the first Sorensen family known to have settled in Burlington. He was the son of Peter A. and Caroline Peterson Sorensen. He married Matilda Dorothy Engel horn, March 26, 1917, in Burlington. She died in 1984. He was a retired shoe salesman who worked for 60 years without a sick day off. He was the oldest member of the Burlington Eagles Lodge and a member of Isaac Walton. Surviving are one daughter, Marjorie Kurtz, Burlington: two sons. Melbourne Sorensen, Burlington and James H. Sorensen, Wever; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Prugh's Chapel. A graveside committal service for Mr. Sorensen will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Aspen Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Jones officiating. A memorial has been established for the Heart Fund.
