Karen M. Sommerfelt, 46, of Burlington Care Center, died at 6:25 a.m. Sunday, Oct.1, 2000, at the care center. Born July 15, 1954, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Milton W. and Ramona Crocker Sommerfelt. Ms. Sommerfelt worked for Goodwill Industries in Iowa City. She was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include her mother; two sisters, Sharon Sommerfelt of Burlington and Linda Sommerfelt Garza of Coralville; her grandmother, Clara Crocker of Burlington; and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, and one aunt. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Lunning Chapel. There will be no family visitation. The funeral for Ms. Sommerfelt will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Missy L. Brown officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
