Mary L. Snider, 90, of Burlington, died at 6:00 AM Thursday, January 19, 2017, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born March 26, 1926, in Williamstown, MO, she was the daughter of James E. and Leona Clark Shumate. In July of 1943 she married Wilbur Wedertz, they later divorced. On September 16, 1972, she married Norlyn Jamison Snider in Burlington. He died on September 8, 2016.
Mary was the owner of LeCHATEU Styling Salon for 39 years.
She graduated from BHS in 1943.
She was a member of Parkside Baptist Church. She was also a big supporter of SMILE TRAIN, which is a leading children's charity for cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries world wide. Mary enjoyed counted cross stitch, knitting, and listening to music.
Survivors include her son, Alan K. Wedertz of Lancaster, CA; daughter, Connie (Jim) Kern of Bella Vista, AR; step-daughter, Carolyn Ragland of Austin, TX; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; six great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one grandson, and one stepson.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Monday, January 23, 2017 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends.
The funeral service for Mrs. Snider will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 23, 2017, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend David J. Yonker officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
