Lillian Maxine Snell, 73, of Burlington, died at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999, at Burlington Medical Center. Born July 20, 1926, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Charles and Myrtle Perry Johnson. Mrs. Snell was a nurse. She was a member of St. John's AME Church and St. Elmo Chapter Three of Eastern Star. Survivors include one brother, James Duncan of Burlington; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, and three brothers. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Monday in Prugh's Chapel. Eastern Star rites will be at 7 p.m., after which the family will receive friends until 8:30 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Snell will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. E. Loyd Walker officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
