Ruby Ann Smith, 93, formerly of Burlington, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, in
Mission Palms, Ariz.
Born March 29, 1921, in Hale, Mo., she was the daughter of L.G. and Effie May Boley
Woodard. On Aug. 3, 1941, she married Harold R. Smith. He died Aug. 22, 2012.
Mrs. Smith attended school in Hale.
She moved with her family to Mount Pleasant in 1935, where she attended school,
played on the girls' basketball team and was a cheerleader.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She enjoyed decorating her home using her favorite color, purple. She also enjoyed shopping, the
casino and time with her family.
Survivors include one son, Gary Smith of Mesa, Ariz.; one sister, Donna Kennedy of Mesa; two
grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, her parents, two brothers and four
sisters.
No visitation is planned. The body has been cremated.
The graveside memorial service for Mrs. Smith will be at a later date.
A memorial has been established for Hospice of Arizona and may be mailed to the family at 2929 E.
Main St., No. 276, Mesa, Ariz. 85213.
Angels Cremation and Burial in Mesa is in charge of arrangements.
