Mrs. Brenda Jean Boyles Smith, 54, of West Burlington died at 6:22 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born August 5, 1958 in Fort Madison, she was the daughter of Boyd and Donna Pechstein Boyles. She married John Anderson who preceded her in death. On June 12, 2003 she married David J. Smith. Mrs. Smith worked at K-mart for a number of years and was a student at SCC. She was a member of West Burlington United Methodist Church and loved people and all animals, especially her two cats. She enjoyed art, skydiving, skiing, and flowers. She loved spending time on the river with her brother Bruce and his dog. Survivors include her husband, David Smith of West Burlington; son, Bryan; daughters, Andrea and Maggie; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Brody, Ruben and Carter; her father, Boyd Boyles; brother, Bruce Boyles and aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, maternal and paternal grandparents and her Aunt Bernadine. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice.
