Norma L. Sink, 81, of Burlington, died at 11:20 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2009, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born January 16, 1928, in Burlington, she was the daughter of LaVerne William and Edith Maneely Jarvis. Mrs. Sink worked in retail services at various places including Kirlin's and The Book Emporium, retiring in 1999. She was of the Methodist faith, and a past member of Ladies of the Moose. Survivors include three daughters, Norma Jean Wagner and Carol Ann Wesely, both of Mount Pleasant, and Betty Louise Brockway of New London; two sons, Ralph Joseph Bowman of Alabama and LaVerne William Bowman of Burlington; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter in infancy. The graveside memorial service for Mrs. Sink will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Aspen Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Dean Graber officiating. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice House.
