Dorothy Rose Berry, 90, of Batavia, died at 12:55 am Monday, Oct. 6, 1997, at Jefferson County Hospital, Fairfield.
Born Oct. 13, 1906, in West Burlington, she was the daughter of John and Mamie Betting ger Pennington. In 1933, she married Howard K. Berry in West Burlington. He died in 1989.
Mrs. Berry moved from West Burlington to Batavia in 1956. She worked in the retail clothing business for 20 years, having worked at Seifer’s in Fairfield as a saleswoman.
She was involved in the Ladies Aid Group at the Methodist Church in Burlington, where she also sang in the church choir. She and her husband enjoyed traveling to Arizona during the winter months.
Survivors include one son, Jack Berry of Batavia; one daughter, Mary Berlyn of New Haven, Conn.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 pm Thursday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.
The funeral for Mrs. Berry will be at 10 am Friday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Royer officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington. A memorial has been established.
