Johnny Dee Simmons, 56, of Burlington, passed away at 3:10 AM Sunday, October 27, 2013, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born October 7, 1957, in Simi, CA, he was the son of Avon Warren and Edna Mae Watson Simmons. Johnny worked for the Metro Group in Mount Pleasant for 11 years and had also worked in construction. He was a graduate of West Burlington Arnold High School. He loved the Lord and enjoyed motorcycles. Survivors include three sisters, Connie Crawford and Bonnie Wood, both of Burlington, and Shirley Shepard of Ohio; one brother, Avon Simmons of Largo, FL; and several nieces and nephews, including Tyler Crawford of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has been entrusted to Thielen Crematory. The memorial service for Mr. Simmons will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Brad Cranston officiating.
